Updating The Blog

For anyone who might be following this blog regularly and not just on WIPW and FOF, this is just a warning that I’ll be upgrading/updating things, so if the site goes a bit wonky, that’s why. =D

My WordPress version needs updating, and with that update means I have to update my theme. There’s a good chance I’ll be switching out this theme for one with a fluid layout that will change according to screen size (I am specifically looking at Yoko), but it will take a bit of modifying to get it to the colors I want, and still using my logo, etc. I’d like to try to keep it ravelry-themed, and keep my color scheme too.

I also feel that I need to do a category merge. There’s no reason to split things out into knit and crochet when I just tag everything anyway, so things might be a bit rocky as I find a plugin to merge my FOs and Patterns together and make things a bit more condensed.

If you guys can think of anything else that a blog like this needs, let me know in the comments!

  1. I wish I knew how to do all the things you do!!! I need a computer class badly! ;-D

    • Well, a lot of the things I know how to do are from college and being on the job. A regular computer class isn’t going to tell you how to edit php or design a blog. It’s going to tell you how to do all the stuff you already know how to do, like zipping files and moving folders, and maybe get into using Microsoft Office products. At least, that’s what LaSalle’s basic computer course was (I tested out of it, but I had to tutor people in it for a year). You need more specialized courses for web design and web programming if you want to be able to fiddle with a blog. :)
