CPY 12/12/12 Prize!

I love prizes!

Some of you may know that through 2010 I was participating in Crystal Palace Yarn’s 12 months, 12 projects, 12 balls of yarn knit along (or KAL). Even though I wasn’t drawn for any of the grand prizes, as one of the 16 or so people to complete the KAL I was allowed to pick a set of needles of my choice and received two random balls of yarn!

I chose a set of 10.75mm star DPNs, because I thought they’d be lovely for hats. Plus, the size difference between 10.5 and 11 is huge (6.5 mm vs 8mm), so having a set of 7mm needles should be useful if I have gauge issues for a bulky weight project in the future.

The yarn is Panda Superwash. One of them is marked as the colorway “Blueberry Pancakes” but the other one doesn’t match anything they have and must have been experimental. I think I like that one better. It reminds me of metals – silver and gold and bronze. I have to decide if I just want to do one little project with each, or try to get complimentary solid colors and go for socks or something.
