Work In Progress Wednesday #10

I made a couple of bookmarks for Mom 2 and Dad 2 for their upcoming birthdays, but those are done so they don’t count for today.

Speaking of birthdays, though, I got a ton of work done on an incredibly dorky present for a friend who I am pretty sure doesn’t come here. I’ll just put up a few vague-ish pictures just in case. He’d be able to tell what it is anyway, probably, but I want to post progress!

2 lbs of rocks!

2 lbs of rocks!

Rocks in a box in a box.

Rocks in a box in a box.

Yes. Yes I did buy 2 pounds of rocks at the dollar store. People will buy anything these days, and I’m willing to pay money for smooth, clean rocks even though they’ll never see the light of day again. They are inside their mesh bag which is inside the plastic canvas box which will be inside a crocheted box.

And now for something completely different.

On the way to NY to visit Todd’s family and go kayaking in the not-so- Great Swamp, I got a lot done on my Mochilito Scarf. It’s curling like the dickens so I will have to block it vigorously while not killing the pretty cables.

  1. I’m very curious about the rocks?!? Scarf us looking lovely!

  2. What a beautiful scarf. Can’t wait to see the mystery gift completed!

  3. Liking the inception reference ;) Scarf is looking stunning – I always think cables look a little better blocked, so you should be fine ;)

  4. Love the scarf, and your kitty bed and blanket. Didn’t have a chance to respond to the previous post.

  5. Argh, I hate it when projects curl up like that. Hope you can block it while still keeping the puffy cables.

  6. Now you just need a fox in socks on that box of a box of rocks.

The Mochilito is looking great! Awesome colors!

  7. I’m super crazy excited to see what you’re doing with the rocks and canvas bag!

    The scarf is beautiful!

  8. You’ve got my curiousity piqued! Your scarf is looking lovely.

  9. I’m intrigued by the box! Your scarf is gorgeous too, I adore the colours

  10. Okay, I have a hunch about the cube – is it Portal related? If not, well, I can’t wait to see the finished object, because I want to know what it is!

  11. The color changing scarf is fabulous!

We are big fans of Inception… I’m intrigued to see how the “dorky” gift comes out.

  12. Haha, love the cube!!! The scarf is looking great!! If you want, you can borrow my blocking wires for the sides so they’re straight.

  13. Baffling! And the scarf is really pretty :)

  14. I look forward to seeing the rock project develop. I love a good weighted-with-rocks project.

And the Mochilito Scarf is gorgeous, I hope it emerges perfect and triumphant and uncurly from its blocking.
