The beginning!

After I made this blanket for my friend Isaac out of yarn that his mom donated, I had a ton of yarn left over. I’ve finally used it all up in the Washed Ashore Afghan. I got around to tucking in the ends last night so I could hurry up and post it for today.

I actually was not able to complete the entire pattern, and just crocheted until I ran out of yarn. As you can see, it’s still a nice-sized throw, even without the last 7 rows. I’m not sure of the exact yardage since I lost count, but I figure it was in the vicinity of 1200-1500 yards.

Go to Tami’s Amis to see what other people finished this week!

  1. It looks great :) Plus, always good to finish up some yarn leftovers!

  2. My favourite items are made with left overs as I call them. They always make me feel like I have a connection to the original person who the item was meant to be for, if you get my drift>>>>>

  3. Even if it’s missing some rows, that still some serious blanket! I can’t imagine putting that much yarn into anything right now!

  4. Your afghan is beautiful! It looks plenty big to me.

  5. Thank you for visiting my blog. This throw looks like such a nice stash buster, nice!

  6. I think it looks great and I agree with everyone in that it looks TOTALLY big enough!

  7. It looks good…i like the shape of it, even without its last 7rows I reckon it looks a decent size that you wont need to worry about those last few bits :)

  12. Looks awesome! I think the size is perfect

  13. That’s very nice! I like projects where you can keep going until you run out of yarn and it looks good even if it’s not quite where you planned to finish.

  14. I like the subtle colours and believe me non one can tell that you are missing rows!

  15. Wow, that’s massive ! Well done :-)

  16. Lovely! Sorry to be late making rounds for FOF, love your colors.
