Last week I celebrated my webcam. This week I shall celebrate my Flip MinoHD. I’m sure when Mom2 gave Todd and I this gift, using it for taking videos of me at my pole class isn’t what she had in mind, but that’s what I’ve been using it for!
Here’s proof that I can haul myself up the pole without monkey-footing it, and that I can let go and stay up with just my legs, and also that I can get down without looking like I’m falling.
And at the end when my instructor, Julia, asks if I can do a straddle and I tell her I can’t from here, what she means is the inverted straddle that I can do from the ground but haven’t figured out how to do in the air yet:
I can actually hold that one a bit longer now. That’s an older video. At some point I’ll have to take a new one for you guys, if you’re interested. :) The climbing one is from a couple weeks ago, though.
Lastly, the yarn for Mom’s birthday present came in this week, but I can’t show it here yet because I don’t want her to know what I got, and she is all up ons this blog.
What’s made you excited recently?

Wow… all I can really say is just… wow…. I would never be able to do that! I am impressed!

WOW! You are strong!

Not strong enough! I can’t even do a pull-up yet, and it makes climbing really hard because the bulk of my weight is all on my right foot (the back foot in the video). I can only climb a few times before my foot hurts too much to hold my weight, so I really need to gain more arm and back strength.

Thanks! I’ll probably have these on Sundays every so often as I improve. It took me almost a year to get this far.

SOOOOOOOOOO COOL!!!!!!! I have always wanted to try this!!! I did take a lap dance class once and had such an awesome time. I wish I had video from my 5 years of Bellydance to share. You make sitting on the pole look easy. I’d probably break something like my face when I fell off the pole and landed on the ground.
