I am never, ever making this again. Seriously. I do think every crocheter ought to have an afghan like this under their belts, but this was ridiculous to make! It’s to the point where even though I like the 63 blocks of crochet cable stitches, there’s no way I’m even going to try to attempt it.
I will say I did dig the continuous braided join, mostly because I hate whip stitch so very much. Here’s a couple more fancy outdoor pictures for you guys to drool at.
And here is the ultimate test of a successfully crocheted afghan.
And here’s a virtual afghan for you, which is why this blog probably loaded slow for you guys. Each block should link to a bigger version of the blog for you to look at. Sorry about the inaccurate colors and blurriness of some photos. I’m too lazy to go back and take more pictures. Let me know if anything’s broken and also which squares are your favorites!
FYI, the bench photo is the most color-accurate. :)
Go to Tami’s Amis to see what other people finished this week!

It looks great :) I was excited to come and see it today, after seeing the blocks emerge for your War on WIPs, and I like even better now it’s all put together

I agree with your cat. What a spectacular job! And now you’ll have years of snuggling under it to make up for the pain of making it. ;)

Wow I think that is really amazing. I love the colours. I want to start making a blanket for the fall, I need something to snuggle under. Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog today. Have a great weekend.
