Well. I certainly hope that it is now much more obvious than it was a few weeks ago that this is not, in fact, a cat or a monkey; rather, it’s a rodent! A pokémon, to be exact, and one that’s within the first 5 you’ll ever see in the first pokémon games ever released.
The pattern was not on Ravelry and I actually had to do a bit of googling to find a pattern for him, because I’m not good enough at sculpting enough to manage to make the right shapes myself. I added the pattern to Ravelry, and the creator actually has other patterns in her DeviantArt gallery that I might make and add in the future if nobody else does.
The pattern was well written and the crocheting itself wasn’t particularly hard. The challenging part for me was sewing all the pieces together so that they didn’t look like mess, and also cutting out the felt. I’m sure you’ve heard me say it before, but I’m balls at sewing, so that particular weakness of mine should not be surprising. :)
Go to Tami’s Amis to see what other people finished this week!

It looks awesome! I’ve never been a Pokemon player, but I knew that’s what he was from the first picture, so you obviously did a good job ;)

Oh that is so cute! My kids would go crazy for it.

I have to admit that I needed the explanation. But, it is well made and very cute :)

I know nothing about Pokemon (but I know what I like!), but this guy is adorable. I especially love the tail! And I’m glad I’m not the only one who sometimes feels that “cutting out the felt pieces” is the most challenging part of a project—felt is so hard to get in the right shape, especially when you’re doing something (a) small and (b) which you need symmetrical pieces of for eyes, etc. You did an awesome job with this one, though. :D His eyes and teeth are awesome.

Looks just like the picture to me! I’m terrible at the sewing up and finishing parts too; I think there ought to be a service that does it for you!

That is some high quality seaming! I think that the world needs more pokemon crochet patterns.

Awesome Rattata, he looks amazing. Even if he is one of the most annoying pokemon in the world (though not as bad as zubat…). One of the reasons I want to learn to crochet is one so I can make some of Wolfdreamer’s pokemon patterns, so thanks for the link to more!

Ok so I don’t play Pokemon anymore, I think I played one of the very early games which is why when I saw this I was very proud of myself for recognizing what it was before the explanation :-P is that bad? It turned out awesome, nice job!
