Squee Sunday

This Sunday I have some new stash items to share with you!

I mentioned having new gift cards to Joann’s at some point. here’s one of the things I bought with it:

Joann's Sensations Slubtastic

I LOVE IT. The name is ugly, and so is the yarn, and it’s awesome. Don’t lie to me. Yes it is ugly. You can tell it’s ugly because there’s only 13 Ravelry projects for it. :) This is going to become a cozy hooded scarf someday.

Next up from the same gift card moneys are two skeins of Washable Ewe. It was buy one get one or I’d only have one skein. I don’t know what I’m doing with it yet, though.

Lastly, over the holidays I lamented at the fact that KnitPicks Risata was discontinued. The socks I made with Risata were done while they were in the process of selling off the yarn. The colors haven’t faded much, the socks haven’t been worn out, and they fit just as perfectly as they did the day I made them. Here’s a pic I took just yesterday:

Chirality

Since I decided I want more socks using this yarn, I perused Ravelry for people selling it, and got some skeins for more. Obviously I’m planning on more mosaic socks!

Risata in Umber and Clementine

I’m not sure WHAT mosaic socks yet, but they’ll be mosaic, all right!

What did you squee about this week?

  1. I love your new yarn, it looks great. Though you’re right the slubtastic is kinda ugly!

  2. …I have that exact skein of Slub-tastic becoming a cowl on my bed right now! I actually sort of like it, it reminds me of dragons. :D Although the slubs look better on the skein than they do as I’m crocheting them, sadly.

Also, those socks? Are amazing, and the new ones are also going to be amazing, because (a) your knitting and (b) the colours are brilliant.

  3. You crack me up – I can’t even comment on your nice yarns because I’m laughing about the “ugly” yarn!!! Only you would say that!!! I love it!

  4. Love your socks. Even love your ugly yarn!
