This is my 7th pair of cabled fingerless mitts, but I’m not sure I ever posted the FOs for mitts number 3 and 6. I guess I’ll fill those in eventually. My pictures of pair #3 were mess. #6 is the 3rd Bunnyloops set.
ANYWAY. By now I have this pattern memorized, and they take me about 4-5 days on average to complete. This set took a week because I had to rip it for some reason. And despite that, if you look at the top of the right hand glove (the left one in the top pic), you’ll see some misplaced purls that I didn’t see until I blocked the stupid things. -_-The mods on this set include reversing the cable on one of the gloves, K2P2 ribbing (I just can’t seem to get myself to do K3P3; my brain doesn’t like it), and instead of k3 on either side of the front, I k4 on the side that will have the thumb, and k2 on the other side. That shifts the cable over to the middle of my hand. otherwise it’s off center, and with my bigger designs the thumb gusset pulls on the design a bit.
Go to Tami’s Amis to see what other people finished this week!

Love them! Love them! On my ever growing lists of this to learn this year is cables, this looks like just the kind of project I should tackle first!

Is mitts on a hand like snakes on a plane? Love em!

They look wonderfully cosy :) Your modifications sound great too, I think making the cables sit centrally makes much more sense (which is surprising, as I like things off center most of the time!)

Very nice! I like how the thumb gusset comes up farther and so does the top of the hand. I may have to make something like this!

I do like the cable centered more. I think once you have patterns memorized that’s what makes them more addicting! Especially when it’s a smaller accessory project!

These are lovely. I adore cables but can’t knit them. I just figure out crochet cables in 2009 – I was so happy when I did.

They look fantastic to me, even with you’re pointing out the error…I’m not seeing it.
