Mom's Xmas Gift Set

Yay blurry iPhone shots!

This gift set I made for mom for Xmas was done with yarn I had left over from the Sunflower Afghan I made for her birthday.

Quirky Scarf

This originally called for two colors, but I like the look of the 3 of them also.  The sproingies were  a bit tedious, but they were also easy and I can see me using them for something else (*cough*cthulhu*cough*).

It’s a short scarf, but my length matched the one in the photo, so it’s supposed to be short. If someone wanted to make it longer they’d have to knit just the right amount of repeats with the center strip so that the horizontal panels fit right, I guess.

Tri-Color Cloche

I added extra rows and increases to this so it’d be more of a bucket shape than tight around the head. I forget which flower I used for the embellishment, but I sewed a bin to the back of it so it can be removed or exchanged for another flower later. I still have yarn left, after all.

I’m going to scrounge around for a pair of crocheted fingerless gloves to go with the scarf and hat.

  1. I love my hat and scarf – especially the sproingies! I’ve had lots of compliments. Thanks for making the hat nice and loose. It keeps the snow off my hair, but I don’t have hat head when I take it off!
