Rip It Good

WIP Wednesday #13

I had progress on War Against WIPs that I’ll detail tomorrow, and I finally blocked the Strangling Vines Scarf, which should feature on FO Friday next week.

Aeolian had been put on hold for a while because my size 14 crochet hook I was using for beading broke. That’s my second one. This time it fell off my desk and landed hook first in the carpet, which was enough to break it’s flimsy flimsiness. I get all my awesome beads and tiny crochet hooks at Beadwranglers ( for the cheaps, and they have super fast shipping. I’ll be doing business with them for a long time.

Anyway, row 18 of the shortened edging chart has been completed which leaves 16 rows of that chart left. I seem to have a lot of yarn left, but who knows if it would have been enough for the full edging? maybe a more if it will get sucked up in the end than I thought.

I took this picture earlier in the night Tuesday of the Pixie Shoulderette. By the end of knitting group I got much further down the sleeve. I have about 26 rows left before binding off and finishing, and I am now into the second ball of yarn.

Pixie Shrug

Where the holes start is where the shoulder goes.

And last but not least, Mochilito has been bound off. It isn’t blocked yet so it doesn’t count as done in my book! I have FOs for this and next week already, so you may not get an official FO post for this until the 26th unless I stick it up for a Squee Sunday.

  1. Wow you’ve made a lot of progress! I’m intrigued by the Pixie Shoulderette, cute colours too :)

  2. The colours in all over your projects are so uplifting. I hope you don’t break any more hooks and get it finished, its very lovely!

Thanks for the shop link, always on the look out for beads!

  3. Yay, mochilito! Can’t wait to see it blocked.

Your Aeolian is going to be really beautiful!!

  4. OOH, an Aeolian! That one is definitely on my to-do list ever since I had one failed attempt doing it in cobweb lace two summers ago! It looks great!

  5. That Aeolian is going to be beautiful. I’m working myself up to tackling one. Can’t wait to see it when it’s done!

  6. Everything looks great! I’m sorry to hear about your crochet hook.

  7. Beautiful colors in that Aeolian. I always find that the last few rows of a shawl take up more yarn than the first 1/3 of the project. Hope you have enough but not so much left that you regret not making it bigger. :)

  8. Looking great! Fingers crossed for no more broken hooks! My husband sat on my bag with my knitting in it and broke one of my needles so I just had a delay waiting for a replacement too :-/

  9. Your Aeolian looks great, so do all your projects. Wow, I’ve dropped my size 14 hook thousands of times on hardwood and tile floors and it’s never broken. My mind boggles at the thought. *laughs*

  10. The Aeolian is gorgeous, I love the way the yarn is working up and the pattern is so elegant. And the Pixie Shoulderette is really intriguing.

…I’m just going to pretend I didn’t click on the Beadwranglers link. So. Many. Pretty. Things.

  11. Am sending some reinforcements for your WAR on WIPS.

    All of them look spectacular.

  12. You ‘ve got lots accomplished – well done! I’m a terrible judge of how much yarn things take, but I suspect the edging will take a lot. Don’t the rows get longer and longer as you go?

  13. The colour of the yarn you used in the Mochilito are gorgeous!

  14. Holy cow! That’s a lot of progress!

  15. Those colours for the Mochilito are wonderful! I can’t wait to see the Aeolian finished.
