This scarf was my portable project from April until August and is one of my bridesmaid gifts. The reason I started it so early is because I knew I’d get bored of the 4 row pattern very quickly, and so it was my traveling project since I didn’t need to look at a pattern while I made it.

Strangling Vines is the sort of pattern that looks like mess for the first few rows. I was really worried it wasn’t coming out right, but after I got a few inches in it looked a lot better.

This yarn doesn’t seem like it has a lot of stretch when you knit with it, but once it soaks for a bit it actually blocks really nicely. You can see the huge difference between the blocked and unblocked versions of the scarf.

  6. it looks gorgeous – the yarn is a gorgeous colour and really suits that pattern :)

  7. Your scarf looks great, the colour is lovely. Blocking lace is like a mgic trick that something all scrunchy can turn into gorgrous open stitches

  9. Great project. I love the final look.

  10. I love the color and the pattern. I think I have used that lace pattern before for exactly that reason. Four rows, easy to remember and turns out looking more complicated than it is.
